29/08/09 - Crikey has it really been two years? |
So what news? Well first of all don’t worry, Red Threat haven’t packed it in or grown out if it;
work really does continue apace on the second album.
They are still recording/mixing/pottering about pretty much every other Sunday and have been doing so since they came off the road in the autumn of ’07.
Two or three tracks are mixed and the rest are not too far away from finished.
We've been reliably informed that a release for Winterval 2009/10 is a possibility,
although a studio upgrade and some extra overdubbing may push the release date a little beyond this.
In other news, Simon's left Red Threat apparently. He says it’s so he can spend more time on Red Threat - sounds bizarre?
See the forum
for further ramblings from the miserable misanthrope.

Bit of a shock for us here at Red Threat HQ but Fopp's called in the administrators and the Sheffield branch is closed.
Hope the burden of stocking our album didn't contribute to their demise!

23/07/06 - CD Release Delayed |

01/05/06 - Better Living Through Cookery |
Apparently better living can be achieved through the art of cookery,
although meat (obviously) but also mushrooms and cauliflower (a little more suprisingly) are off the menu.

18/02/06 - Derwent |
One of the best things about Sheffield is it's proximity to the Peak District.
Rob's quite into walking and cycling and one of his favourite places to go is Derwent.
Hence the song Derwent.

14/09/05 - Red Threat 1st album now expected early(?) 2006 |
Red Threat inform us that they're starting to get the hang of this recording malarky but these things take time.
We caught up with Rob earlier this week and he told us that things were going well and
how keen he was to get more of his music out there. He added things might be moving a little quicker
if Warby could remember the guitar parts from week to week and not take all day to iron his work shirts!
(ahh yes the self-flagellation of ironing work shirts, I know it well - ed.)
I guess that's Rock n' Roll for ya!
|
16/07/05 - Red Threat are at Number 1! |
Red Threat's track The Last Thing I Need is number one in
The Top 25 Songs Played By DJ Axe Over The Last 14 Days on Song Planet .com
Can't do Right was number 18 in DJ Mike's chart a few weeks ago so that's at least two people that have heard Red Threat's stuff!
|
28/05/05 - Are Red Threat taking on Strauss and Wagner? |
The Latest track, Shining Black, certainly has a symphonic quality.
Maybe it's a soundtrack to a film not yet produced, images of a frantic chase around a European city perhaps?
We've finally got broad-band here at Red Threat HQ, so we're able to offer higher quality Mp3's for your listening pleasure!
If you have broad-band, click here to download the high quality Shining Black mp3.
For those still using a modem, click here for the Shining Black two minute taster.

|
Roads is a reworking of a Son of a Cat Song written back in 1991. The Last Thing I Need sounds like Heavy Metal To us but Rob says not and he should know!
