Red Threat - The Ginger Brothers' Music Coalition

When the little known indie rock combo, Red Threat from Sheffield, England asked us to build their web site, we expected the usual biog, photographs of 'rock stars having fun' and maybe the odd exclusive download, but we got more than that, much more. This web site aims to capture the sights, the sounds and yes even the smells of the fire and ice like creative forces of the Ginger Brothers, whether they be hard at work in their studio or cooking up a fine veggie stir fry.

14/09/05 - Red Threat 1st album now expected early(?) 2006
Red Threat inform us that they're starting to get the hang of this recording malarky but these things take time.
We caught up with Rob earlier this week and he told us that things were going well and how keen he was to get more of his music out there. He added things might be moving a little quicker if Warby could remember the guitar parts from week to week and not take all day to iron his work shirts! (ahh yes the self-flagellation of ironing work shirts, I know it well - ed.)
I guess that's Rock n' Roll for ya!

16/07/05 - Red Threat are at Number 1!

Red Threat's track The Last Thing I Need is number one in The Top 25 Songs Played By DJ Axe Over The Last 14 Days on Song Planet .com

Can't do Right was number 18 in DJ Mike's chart a few weeks ago so that's at least two people that have heard Red Threat's stuff!

28/05/05 - Are Red Threat taking on Strauss and Wagner?

The Latest track, Shining Black, certainly has a symphonic quality. Maybe it's a soundtrack to a film not yet produced, images of a frantic chase around a European city perhaps?
We've finally got broad-band here at Red Threat HQ, so we're able to offer higher quality Mp3's for your listening pleasure!

If you have broad-band, click here to download the high quality Shining Black mp3.

For those still using a modem, click here for the Shining Black two minute taster.

27/02/05 - A couple of new tracks for you: Roads and The Last Thing I Need
Roads is a reworking of a Son of a Cat Song written back in 1991. The Last Thing I Need sounds like Heavy Metal To us but Rob says not and he should know!

Red Threat aka The Ginger Brothers are Robert Willis and Simon Warby From Sheffield, UK. They spend most Sundays writing and recording songs in their attic studio, some of which have been made available here as MP3 downloads. With influences including The Pixies, Thin Lizzy, Depeche Mode, Bill Hicks, The Manic Street Preachers and Oasis, their sound really cannot be pigeon-holed. Although we did once hear them described as an Avant Garde alternative indie prog punk pop rock band. This catch all description seems to suit them as well as any other!
